Bed and breakfast in picturesque village

Welcome to our home!

We have fallen in love with Nusnäs and want to share this wonderful little village. Stay one or more nights in our guest rooms in our Bed and Breakfast. Our house and garden is open all year, and we welcome new and old friends and visitors to explore Nusnäs, Mora and Dalarna.

About the property

The house is kept in the 1960-s style it was built in, paying homage to the design and architecture of time. Three guestrooms with space for two guests in each room are located on the main floor, as well a a bathroom with a shower and a living room with a fireplace that may be used by our guests.

There is also a fully equipped kitchen on the main floor where breakfast and other meals are served by the hosts. Please check with the hosts before using the kitchen between meals.

In the basement you will find a cleaning room with a washing machine, as well as a well equipped gym and second bathroom with showers and a bathtub. A separate toilet is also available.

Outside the house is a large garden with multiple seating arrangements and and BBQ options. The garden comes with many plants, including berries and fruits. If they are ripe when you visit, feel free to enjoy!

A designated parking for 4 or more cars is found in front of the main barn (see picctures). It is also possible to drive almost to the door if you have heavy luggage.

About the stay

We offer breakfast as part of your stay. Please let us know of dietary requirements in advance.

Bed linen and towels are provided.

We live and work around the house, and will be around to give advise and help.

Please note that we keep cats. If you have allergies, you may not find our place comfortable.

About the area

Situated in the middle of the Nusnäs village, surrounded by traditional farm houses! 5 minutes walk to Siljan, where you can swim, boat and fish. Short walk to the Dalahästen factories and shops. Large outdoor area with with free parking.

Nusnäs is a small village situated in Mora Municipality, Dalarna County, Sweden with 729 inhabitants in 2010. It is also a notable producer of Dalarna Horses (from Wikipedia).

In Mora you will find museums, shopping, crafts and a variety of good restaurants.

A car or motorcycle is recommended to get around in the area, but there is also bus service to Mora several times a day. If you travel by train, we may be able to organize transport to/from the station in Mora.

Bicycling and walking are nice activities. There is also the option to bring a boat and sail on Siljan.

Motorcycles

We welcome motorcyclists. In fact we are bikers: Kai is an avid adventure traveler and may provide you with suggestions and tracks, and if time permits he may even take you out on a guided tour around Siljan. 

Food in Nusnäs

There are currently no restaurants, bars or cafes in Nusnäs. We only serve breakfast, which means you will need to find your own lunch and dinner elsewhere. 

The nearest place for eating is in Mora, which has a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants, some which also offers take-away. If you are into good food, we recommend going to Fryksås for lunch or dinner. Both Fryksås Hotel, as well as Smidgården i Fryksås offer great food, with an amazing view. 

You will often find us BBQing, and you may be invited to join.
